Today we head 1.5 hours to the Islamic castle of Ajloun, in Arabic called Qal’at Ar Rabad. In 1184 during the Crusades an Arab general and relative of Salah ad-Din built here a fortress on higher grounds. Its purpose was to watch over the routes to the Jordan Valley and the commercial routes to Syria, as well as to protect the iron mines nearby. There is a small museum inside the castle and don’t miss the great view over the surrounding countryside. We continue then to Jerash, the best example of a Roman provincial city in the whole Middle East. The well preserved ruins had been hidden for centuries in sand, before the excavations started in 1925. Wander along the spectacular Forum, paved and colonnaded streets, the Nymphaeum, theatres and the Temple of Artemis. - After this amazing visit Drive towards the South of Jordan, proceed to the rose-red city and one of the world’s seven wonders; Petra. At a pre-arranged time pickup from your hotel lobby. Your driver takes you for an hour to the Allenby Bridge, also known as King Hussein Bridge. After the formalities board a shuttle bus (not included in the package), say farewell to Jordan and cross on your own into Palestine / Israel. Drive to Masada and learn about the heroic story of the Jewish fighters. Ascend by cable car and tour the mountain fortress built by King Herod, where the zealots of the first century made their last stand against the Romans. Visit the remains of the walls, palace, synagogue, water cisterns, mosaic floors, Roman baths and other findings. Experience spectacular views and descend by cable car. On the way back to Jerusalem stop at the Qumran Caves, where the Dead Sea Scrolls where found in 1947 by an Arab boy. The scrolls contained fragments of biblical and sectarian texts, some of them more than 2,000 years old. Transfer about 40 minutes to your hotel in Jerusalem.

The whole border crossing takes minimum 1-2 hours and can take longer depending on traffic or if the Israeli authorities will question you about your stay in Israel / Palestine).
Start your tour with a panoramic view from the top of Mount Olives, a good place for an introduction to the city and its history. Then we visit the holy sites of the three monotheistic religions, represented in Jerusalem. We start with the walk to the Wailing Wall, which represents the last remnants of the Jewish Temple, destroyed by the Romans. Usually you can see the various types of Jews who come to worship at this holy place. If open to visitors, we ascend to the Temple Mount, to look at the famous Dome of the Rock. Continue through the Arab Market to the "Via Dolorosa", Jesus' "Way of Suffering", which leads us to The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, where Jesus was crucified and buried. Afternoon transfer to Bethlehem, to see the Church of the Nativity, built over the birthplace of Jesus Christ. If you like we visit the Milk Grotto and the Shepherds’ Fields. Return transfer to your Jerusalem hotel.

Onto Haifa City, and up to Mt. Carmel one of the holy mountains, we can see the coast of Haifa city all the way down to the Mediterranean. Visit Stella Maris on top and the Baha’i Gardens in the edge of the city center. On proceed to Caesarea, where we will see the ancient ruins of a Roman theater facing the Mediterranean, remains of one of Herod's palaces and many marble and granite columns. Also we visit the Hippodrome and the water aqueducts. Short visit to the Old City of Jaffa. Transfer to your hotel in Tel Aviv and overnight.
